The Bucket

This painting is about movement. I wanted to paint the moving person in all its power. A paradox as it seems, as a painting is always by its very nature still, and yet it is the great challenge in painting to fill this stillness with movement. The painting as such is quite funny, where is the cook going with his bucket, is there a hole in it ? Does he want to throw it at a complaining guest? Any suggestions are welcome.
In diesem Bild geht es um Bewegung. Ich wollte die sich bewegende Person mit all ihrer Kraft malen. Ein Paradox wie es scheint, da ein Bild von Natur aus immer still ist, und doch ist es die große Herausforderung der Malerei diesen „Stillstand“ mit Bewegung zu erfüllen. Dieses Bild an sich ist ganz lustig, wo geht der Koch mit dem Topf hin, ist vielleicht ein Loch darin? Oder will er ihn gar nach einem sich beschwerenden Gast werfen? Vorschläge werden gern entgegengenommen.
