Und dann wurde der Himmel plötzlich dunkel mitten am Tag. Ein Sturm brachte große Wolken mit sich. Vögel flogen aufgeschreckt hin und her, und dann kam der lang ersehnte Regen für das Land.
And then suddenly the sky went dark in the middle of the day. A storm brought big clouds. Birds flew back and forth in alarm, and then the long-awaited rain came for the country.

Überall leuchten jetzt kleine Blüten am Boden und im Gebüsch. Wie die Sterne am Himmel, nur eben auf der Erde, und am Tag.
Small flowers shine everywhere now on the ground and in the bushes. Like the stars in the sky, only on earth, and during the day.

Das Abendlicht im Mai

Das Abendlicht zeichnet die knorrigen Äste der alten Eichen nach. Sie werden wohl schon über 100 Jahre alt sein diese Bäume, nur das frische Blätterkleid, das ist ganz neu, wie jedes Jahr im Mai.
The evening light traces the gnarled branches of the old oaks. These trees must be more than 100 years old. But the fresh foliage is brand new, like every year in May.
