A fish fast food restaurant in the new Berlin Hauptbahnhof (the new main station) run by a friend of mine, I think that I will paint this one as-well in a larger version.
Ein Fast-Food Fischrestaurant das ein Freund von mir im neuen Berliner Hauptbahnhof betreibt, ich denke daß ich dieses Bild auch in einer größeren Version malen werde.

There are two sides to my working methods. The one is working from loose sketches taken from scenes that I see while walking the streets, and the second one is what I call the staging of things, done in my studio. It is a bit like a theatre set, everything is planned out, the lighting controlled until I like the set, and start to paint. Today´s blog painting was done in that way.
Es gibt zwei Methoden nach denen ich meistens arbeite. Die eine ist das Malen von schell angefertigten Skizzen, die ich wenn ich unterwegs bin anfertige, die zweite Art ist was ich eine Inszenierung nennen würde. Wie auf einer kleinen Bühne werden die Dinge angeordnet, die Lichtverhältnisse genau so manipuliert, bis es mir gefällt was ich da sehe, dann fange ich an zu malen. Das heutige blog painting wurde so gemalt.

For today´s blog painting I used an older sketch I did outside the Newton Bar in Berlin. I am always fascinated by reflections in large windows, it is as if the painting is already there, on a two dimensional surface, in a abstract pattern of only form and colours….
Für das heutige blog painting habe ich eine ältere Skizze benutzt, die ich vor einiger Zeit vor der Newton Bar in Berlin anfertigte. Ich bin immer wieder fasziniert von Spiegelungen in großen Fenstern, es ist als ob das Bild schon da wäre, auf einer zweidimensionalen Oberfläche, ein abstrakter Verlauf von Formen und Farben

Today´s blog painting is a glass with olives. A theme I have been painting before. Its a challenge to paint glass with something behind, so its always a good practise.
Das heutige blog painting zeigt ein Glas mit Oliven. Ein Sujet, das ich auf andere Art schon einmal verwendet habe. Es ist eine große Herausforderung Glas zu malen, die Illusion Glas zu betrachten, die nur dadurch entsteht, daß etwas hinter dem Glas ist.

I am with this blog officially online for one day. And what a day it has been. The response is more than I ever imagined. Thank you all for your support, your calls and e-mails, this is a great encouragement to keep going with this project, that took many months of preparation. Thanks to all of you !!!
Today´s blog painting is a box of cigarillos, with some small change and a calling card. I collect this small boxes, as I always think, they might be suitable for further still lifes.
Einen Tag bin ich nun mit diesem Blog online. Und was für ein Tag das war. Die Ressonanz war größer als ich es mir jemals erträumt hätte. Danke für all die Anrufe und e-mails, das ist eine wunderbare Motivation dieses Projekt das einige Monate an Vorbereitung gekostet hat fortzuführen. Danke!!!
Das heutige blog painting ist eine Zigarillo Schachtel, ein paar Münzen und eine Visitenkarte. Ich sammle diese Schachteln da Sie sich immer gut als Prop für Stilleben eignen.

Today´s painting is a tribute to the genius of Hergé. The stories of Tin Tin were part of my childhood. A couple of years ago I found this little plastic toy of Tin Tin. So I placed this on a piece of paper with a tube of paint in front, and here it is, my blog painting of the day.
Das heutige Bild ist meine Verneigung vor dem Genie von Hergé. Seine Geschichten waren Teil meiner Kindheit. Vor einiger Zeit kaufte ich dieses kleine Plastik Spielzeug mit Tim und Struppi, so hatte ich die Idee, dieses Spielzeug auf ein Blatt Papier mit einer Tube Farbe davor zu stellen, und hier ist das blog painting für heute.
