Went for a walk this morning, quite early for my time anyway, to see the morning light`s reflection in the snow. Pissarro once said that colours are much purer in winter, I slowly start to understand what he meant. I was able to do a number of sketches, as well of this man in the middle of the road at the traffic light, he performed a little dance of slow movements in the cold, so I will make three paintings of this scene, with different movements of his body…
Spaziergang heute morgen, ganz schön früh für mich, um die Reflektionen des Morgenlichts im Schnee zu sehen. Pissarro sagte einmal, daß Farben im Winter reiner sind, langsam fange ich an zu verstehen was er damit meinte. Ich konnte ein paar Skizzen machen, unter anderem auch von diesem Mann mitten auf der Strasse vor einer Ampel, er führte einen kleinen Tanz langsamer Bewegungen im Schnee auf, ich werde von dieser Szene drei Bilder machen, jedes mit einem anderen Bewegungsablauf…
