Eigentlich fast kurz vor dem Ziel, irgendwo in Brandenburg, war die Autobahn auf einmal gesperrt, und wir mussten mit unserem Sprinter, voll mit Leinwänden, unfertigen Bildern, Material, Farben und ein paar Sachen, die mir wichtig sind, einen Umweg über Land fahren. Was aber nicht schlimm war. Weil dieses Land hier einfach schön ist, mit einer ganz besonderen Stimmung, und einem ganz besonderen Licht.
Just as we were almost at our destination—somewhere in Brandenburg—the autobahn was suddenly closed. We had to take a detour along country roads in our Sprinter, which was packed with canvases, unfinished paintings, supplies, paints, and a few things that are important to me. But that wasn’t a problem at all, because the countryside here is simply beautiful, with a very special atmosphere and a very special light.
