Es gibt hier keine große Auswahl an Bars und Restaurants ( jedenfalls in meiner Wahrnehmung ) aber es kann durchaus passieren das man von einem bis dahin völlig Fremden zu einer Flasche Feierabend Bier am Ufer eingeladen wird. Unter den feingliedrigen Blättern der Robinien sitzend, auf den vorbeiziehenden Fluss schauend, das goldenen Licht des Sonnenuntergangs bewundern, das Bier schmeckt so ganz besonders wunderbar.
There is not a large selection of bars and restaurants here (at least in my opinion) but it can happen that a complete stranger invites you to a bottle of beer on the banks of the river, after work. Sitting under the delicate leaves of the robinia, looking at the river passing by, admiring the golden light of the sunset, the beer tastes particularly wonderful.
Ein Sommerabend

Ein Sommerabend an der Spree in Schöneweide. Dieser Stadtteil Berlins, hat im laufe der Zeit und seiner Geschichte viele Narben abbekommen, und viel Spott und Hohn über sich ergehen lassen. Aber wenn die untergehenden Sonne alles mit ihrem goldenen Licht verzaubert, dann ist das alles vergessen, dann ist alles gut.
A summer evening on the Spree in Schöneweide. This district of Berlin has received many scars over time and history, and endured a lot of ridicule and scorn. But when the setting sun enchants everything with its golden light, then all this is forgotten, and all is well.
Das Fenster im Seitenflügel rechts
Im Sommer 2016 malte ich ein Bild mit dem Namen „Comtemplation“. Die Szene, am Fenster meines Ateliers in der Torstrasse 95 in Berlin Mitte, Erdgeschoss, im Seitenflügel rechts.
Ich wollte damals, als damals für mich noch eine ganz andere Bedeutung hatte, ein zweites Bild gleich folgen lassen.
Die selbe Szene, nur jetzt ist die Figur leicht nach vorne gebeugt, in einer alten französischen Vogue blätternd, die auf dem Fensterbrett liegt, und im ersten Bild nur von weiten betrachtet wurde.
Eine Film Sequenz in 2 Bildern, gemalt.
Es hat ein bisschen gedauert. Viel ist passiert. Aber heute, an einem schönen Tag im Juli 2022, ist das zweite Bild nun auch fertig geworden.

In the summer of 2016 I painted a painting called „Comtemplation“. The scene at the window of my studio at Torstrasse 95 in Berlin Mitte, ground floor, in the right side wing.
Back then, I wanted to add a second painting right away.
The same scene, only now the figure is bent slightly forward, leafing through an old French Vogue lying on the window sill, seen only from afar in the first painting.
A film sequence in 2 pictures, painted.
It took a while. A lot has happened. But today, on a beautiful day in July 2022, the second painting is now also finished.

Mit Strohhüten
Eine neue Arbeit ist fertig. Eigentlich nur die Untermalung, aber ich werde es so lassen wie es ist, und nochmal eine neue Leinwand für die farbliche Ausarbeitung nehmen.
A new painting is done. Actually just the underpainting, but I’ll leave it as it is and use a new canvas and start again in colour.

Das Lichtspiel. Überall ist es, in ständiger Veränderung. Herumtanzend. Allem seine ganz besondere Bedeutung gebend, für einen kurzen, flüchtigen Augenblick, der jetzt ist.
The play of light. It is everywhere, in constant change. Dancing around, giving everything its special meaning, for a brief, fleeting moment of time, now.

Im Gespräch
Eine neu größere Arbeit (50 x 70 cm, Öl auf Leinwand) ist fertig. Insgesamt habe ich doch 10 Jahre daran gearbeitet , wie die Zeit doch schnell vergeht. Die Szene ist aus meinem ehemaligen Atelier in der Torstrasse 95, in Berlin Mitte.
A new larger work (50 x 70 cm, oil on canvas) is finished. All in all I’ve been working on it for 10 years, time just flies. The scene is from my former studio at Torstrasse 95, in Berlin Mitte.
