Mein persönliches Covid19 update:
Ich hatte eine Idee.
Jetzt leben wir schon seit vielen Wochen mit einer Gefahr, die unser Leben sehr schnell und radikal verändert hat.
Wie das alles jetzt weitergehen wird ist mir im Moment als Laie, nicht ganz klar.
Auf der einen Seite wird man ja überflutet von Nachrichten, Meinungen, sich widersprechenden Expertisen und Prognosen und auf der anderen Seite mit Bildern unendlichen Leids.
Es ist auch eine Zeit, die Raum gibt für unfassbare Blödheit, bis in die höchsten Ebenen von Regierungen, für Kompetenzgerangel von Bürokraten, und intellektueller Wohlstands-Verwahrlosung.
Wer weiß es schon, erst die Geschichtsschreibung wird ein klares Bild zeichnen können, von dem was letztendlich falsch und was richtig war.
Aber eines ist sicher. Es gibt auf der Welt unglaublich viele Menschen, die seit Monaten pausenlos ihr ganzes Können, ihre ganze Kraft und auch ihr Leben für Betroffene und sehr kranke Menschen einsetzen, und das teilweise unter beschämenden Rahmenbedingungen mit sehr sehr langen Arbeitstagen und -nächten, bei ungewissem Ausgang.
Das sind die Pflegekräfte und Ärzte, die „frontline workers“, die wahren Helden in diesem Konflikt, dem jeder von uns zum Opfer fallen kann.
Ich möchte meinen kleinen Beitrag für diese Helden leisten und bin mir dabei nicht ganz sicher ob es fast vermessen ist, aber was Besseres ist mir nicht eingefallen.
Hier ist die Idee:
Ich möchte jede Woche 1 bis 2 Porträts in der Größe meiner Tagesbilder (15 cm x 15 cm) von Menschen, die als Pflegekräfte und Ärzte an der „Front“ kämpfen, malen, und dieses Bild der/dem Portraitierten schenken.
Ich weiß, das ist jetzt wirklich keine große Hilfe, aber zumindest etwas, das ich als Künstler machen kann.
Zum Ablauf:
Sie sind Pflegekraft / Ärtztin / Arzt und direkt im Konflikt Covid19 tätig. Sie machen ein paar Selfies mit Ihrem Smartphone z.B. in der Umgebung Ihrer Arbeit so wie Sie da sind, in Arbeitskleidung und allem, und schicken mir diese Fotos an folgende mail: office@gordon.de mit einer kleinen Beschreibung Ihrer Person und Tätigkeit.
Wenn es viele Zuschriften gibt, werde ich pro Woche zwei im Losverfahren daraus ziehen, sie malen, und auf diesem Blog veröffentlichen, mit einem kleinen Text zu Ihnen, den ich vorher natürlich mit Ihnen abkläre. Das Porträt von Ihnen steht nicht zum Verkauf, da ich es Ihnen schenke, sobald es getrocknet ist. ( dauert ca. 6 Wochen )
Natürlich kann ich Ihnen zuversichern, daß Ihre Zuschrift und Ihr Fotomaterial vertraulich behandelt, sowie nicht an Dritte weitergegeben und nach dem Ende der Aktion von mir gelöscht wird.
So, jetzt bin ich gespannt was passiert, auf jeden Fall freue ich mich jetzt schon auf die erste Resonanz

My personal Covid19 update:
I have an idea.
We all have been living with a monstrous thread for many weeks by now, and it has changed our lives dramatically.
As a layperson, it is not entirely clear to me how normal life will go on.
On the one hand, we are flooded with news, opinions, contradicting expertise and forecasts, and on the other hand with pictures of endless suffering.
It is also a time when there is room for unbelievable stupidity to the highest levels of government, for skirmishes among bureaucrats and for intellectual bewilderment.
Who knows, only history will be able to draw a clear picture of what was wrong and what was right.
But one thing is certain. There are an unbelievable number of people in the world who have been continuously using their skills, their strength and their lives for those affected and very ill people for months, sometimes under shameful conditions with very long working days and nights, with an uncertain outcome .
These are the nurses and doctors, the “frontline workers”, the real heroes in this conflict, a disease to which each of us can fall victim.
I want to make my little contribution to these heroes and I’m not quite sure if it’s almost presumptuous, but I couldn’t think of anything better.
Here is the idea:
I would like to paint every week 1 to 2 portraits the size of my daily paintings (15 cm x 15 cm) of people who are fighting as nurses and doctors on the „front“ and give this painting to the person being portrayed.
I know that’s really not much help now, but at least something I can do as an artist.
The procedure:
You are a nurse or a doctor and directly involved in the conflict Covid19. You take a few selfies with your smartphone e.g. in the area of your work as you are there, in your workwear and everything, and send me these photos to the following mail: office@gordon.de with a small description of your person and job description.
Depending on how many mails I receive, I will, by lottery, draw two each week, paint them, and publish those portraits on this blog, with a small text about you, which I will of course clarify with you beforehand. The portrait of you is not for sale as I will give it to you as soon as it has dried (takes about 6 weeks) as a present.
Of course, I can assure you that your mail and your photos will be treated confidentially, will not be passed on to third parties and will be deleted by me after the end of the campaign.
So now I’m excited to see what happens, in any case I’m already looking forward to the first response
