Gestern ist Daniel Barenboim als Generalmusikdirektor der Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, zurückgetreten, aus gesundheitlichen Gründen. Ich hoffe aber trotzdem, dass ihm der Platz in seiner Loge bleibt, und dass er dort auch noch vielen Aufführungen beiwohnen kann. Links im Bild ist der Eingang zur Loge. Davor ist ein kleiner Flur, der zu einer Doppelflügeligen-Tür führt, hinter der sich sein Büro befindet. Rechts wäre dann der Blick direkt auf den Orchestergraben und die Bühne. Lieber Maestro, danke für alles, und auf hoffentlich baldige Genesung.
Daniel Barenboim resigned yesterday as general music director of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin for health reasons. Nevertheless, I hope that he will still be using his opera box, and that he will be able to attend many more performances there. On the left would be the entrance to the box. In front of it, is a small hallway that leads to a set of double doors behind which is his office. On the right, there would be a direct view of the orchestra pit and the stage. Dear Maestro, thank you for everything and wishing you a speedy recovery.
