A reflection of a moment of the day
The city is sweltering in the heat. Moving provides some relief (though it is also very exhausting).
We followed the voice of the GPS, which guided us along country roads and through quiet villages where only a few lights were still on.
Just as we were almost at our destination—somewhere in Brandenburg—the autobahn was suddenly closed. We had to take a detour along country roads in our Sprinter, which was packed with canvases, unfinished paintings, supplies, paints, and a few things that are important to me. But that wasn’t a problem at all, because the countryside here is simply beautiful, with a very special atmosphere and a very special light.
On the A2 heading towards Berlin. The evening light charts the course of the journey like a guidance system made of light and shadow.
The wonderful violinist Marie Radauer-Plank invited me to her Sunday concert, „Bach Sand Bach,“ held in the Mirror Hall at Clärchens Ballhaus. It was yet another one of those magical moments when violinist and violin become one and the instrument begins to sing—leaving not a single soul or heart in the room unmoved. Thank you, Marie, for this experience—one that I find truly difficult to describe adequately in words.
There are many signs in this city, distributed according to a system that defies comprehension—somewhere between precision and chaos.

And the sun paints with its light through the branches.
Off to the summer retreat! The city is bursting into bloom in vibrant new colours. Soon the orange trees will blossom once again, people will be swimming in the many lakes, and the golden evening light of Berlin will once more cast its spell over the entire city.
